Little Green Money Machine Curriculum a Success at Youth Entrepreneurial Academy

Tulsa, Oklahoma – August 3, 2011 – Independent Youth (IY) partners with Little Green Money Machine to enhance their youth entrepreneurial curriculum at the Youth Entrepreneurial Academy.  Youth ages 12-18 used the Little Green Money Machine business stand and book Kids in Business Around the World at the Youth Entrepreneurial Academy to learn how to develop and start their first business. 

“The Little Green Money Machine really helped keep the students engaged.  The book really helped them take that first step- to understand their passions and goals to start their business.  It also really gave them a high level overview of marketing and financial literacy,” says Tanya Hamilton, CEO/ Founder of Independent Youth.

The Youth Entrepreneurial Academy is a week-long camp that teaches youth ages 12-18 how to start and run their own business.  Youth developed goals, brainstormed business ideas, and determined marketing plans for their business.  At the end of the camp, they each had a business plan and presented to their peers. One requirement for IY Youth Entrepreneurial Academy includes actual execution of business plans created at the camp. 

“For an introduction to business, this book is great! Kids in Business Around the World really enhanced our curriculum at the Youth Entrepreneurial Academy and kept the kids engaged and excited about it,” says Tanya Hamilton, CEO/ Founder of Independent Youth.

The attendees are now putting their plans into action by using the Little Green Money Machine business stand to set up their first businesses.
